PCSOs carried out Community Speedwatch along The Hobson, Burnopfield, following concerns raised by local residents. Over 100 vehicles passed the site, with one recorded travelling in excess of 45mph. Further Community Speedwatch activity took place on Jubilee Terrace, New Kyo, also following complaints. A total of 112 vehicles passed, with five drivers found to be exceeding 35mph. Community Speedwatch aims to educate drivers and promote safer driving rather than enforcement.Throughout the week, PCSOs attended a number of incidents involving youth anti-social behaviour. Enquiries are ongoing to identify those involved and take appropriate action.Neighbourhood officers supported response colleagues at a domestic incident. Six individuals have been charged with shoplifting offences committed in the town centre and Annfield Plain area. Officers also arrested a male wanted in connection with vehicle thefts, with enquiries continuing.The Neighbourhood Team assisted at the scene of a serious road traffic collision on the A693, providing initial scene management and support with traffic control and road closures.PCSOs and PCs attended a PACT meeting in the Burnopfield area, engaging with local residents. They also attended drop-in sessions at Annfield Plain Community Centre and Dipton Jubilee Centre.A huge thank you to South Moor Together for inviting us to their Big Spring Clean. It was lovely to see the community coming together and taking such pride in their area. We really enjoyed chatting with so many local residents, and Sgt Dixon even had a photo with Bobby, who was proudly wearing his police uniform.
